so pretty.. :0
Use snares versus trap line i was taught to always make sure if it is blown out to continue to use it every time and never let the catch cereal, be the main factor in moving the traps. Now if the traps were in an area where people were causing the problem then yes, relocate the trapline! The other justification for relocating is if you want to just harvest a certain amount of animals due to population To reduce the number of issues with people only using snares because people love to steal the traps, which can lead to an expense concern where snares can be made out of anything in the environment. If this situation regarding farmer's land concerns then I can see the reason for the relocation of the traps to many different locations to reduce the landscape concerns making sure that there is no property damage then we must relocate to prevent so that the farmer wants you to come back to work and reduce his own nutrients animal control. To make sure that you continue to have a contract with the land owners. However, what traps do you use to go after the wild boar if in your area of traping have you ever had to go after them, yet? I hear that the Canadian version of The Wild Boar is coming South to the northern part of America so we are going to be faced with the same issue as the Southern United States is dealing with are you ready for this situation that is endable that the whole nation is going to deal with this, problem ( The Wild Boar) that these inactive animals occurring in our own country. Sincerely! R.S.V.
unfortunately this is absolutely the most amateur set I have ever seen ! NEVER set in a wire fence you are asking for ripped hides and countless other scrap that is unethical!
Hmmm. I seem to have caught hundreds, and hundreds of coyotes using this set. Maybe one out of fifty has some damaged fur, but not one ripped hide. It is extremely effective and definitely any amateur can make this set. I always set every fence I can. Some states it is not legal, but my state it is. You’re definitely entitled to your opinion, but I’d be careful trying to dogmatically tell another trapper what to do on his trapline.
Why the bobcat was killed?
How much for the great Cariboo knife the flash remover? No price listed on their websirte for that particular one please? Keep up a great work.Thanks.
I bought mine from FnT Post. It is $84.95. It is the double edge fleshing knife. It’s a great knife
@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 very good deal for such quality tool.Thank you and take care Sir.
Hello from sweden. I have a question about if I can freeze the beaver hive? My friend have a freshly shoot beaver, but I cant collect it today
Hey glad to hear from you in Sweden! Yes definitely freeze the hide. It will be fine for awhile. If you wait too long it can get freezer burnt, but 6 months it will be fine.
Had to dispatch a screaming raccoon this way today. For some reason the coni 220 didn't kill him and he was just screaming over and over again. I used rebar.
Dang. Those raccoons are a little harder. Hope it worked out good.
My wife once ground beaver castor in our coffee grinder, didn’t bother to wash it. Next day I couldn’t figure out wtf was wrong with my coffee, it tasted nothing like vanilla tho lol
Hahahahaha. I’ll bet that was a short coffee break that day. That’s a good story
I like simple as this fits me perfectly 👍
Simple and it really does work great. Thanks for the comment!
Living vicariously through you. Taking care of a baby surrounded by houses in the suburbs, wish I was out with cold fingers paddling my canoe and making sets.
It’s a good life for sure. Thanks for the comment!
Is your canoe a Sears 17ft? That’s the one I own. Switched the center thwart for a wooden yoke for portaging and JB welded in some tye down rings into the bottom. Love that thing.
I’m not sure to be honest. This canoe has been passed down to me from several different family members. I paddled this canoe for the first time when I was 13 in a lake at a family reunion. By far the best way to travel on water if you ask me.
What episode is that beaver castor lure making on?

Every time I listen to someone on the west side of the Mississippi say "coyote", I have to force myself to add the "tea" syllable at the end in my mind. I live in the east. My friends poke fun of me and my wife rolls her eyes if I say it your way. It's just easier to add the "tea" and move on. I have a friend from Texas, I visited New Mexico and have spoken to folks from Wyoming. They all say it your way. I guess most easterners were influenced by the Road Runner cartoons. Wiley E Coyot-tea had to be a big part of it!
Hahahahahah. This is funny. If someone says coyoteeee around here they are from the city, and probably never even seen one before. It’s totally frowned upon. It’s funny how different things can be from east to west. We actually correct our kids as a whole when they say coyoteeee. I grew up watching Wiley and the roadrunner, and for the longest time I didn’t realize it was Wiley Coyoteee. I’ve got a pair of shotguns (chaps) that I wear when I’m riding and working cows. The shotguns have Wiley Coyote with a trap on his tail carved into the leather. A friend of mine made them for me. I know some of our northern friends call them coyootes. No matter what you call them they sure are alot of fun to catch.
Can you do this to dogs?
Awesomeness! I just subscribed!
Hey thanks! I appreciate that
Great Video...Best you tuber I have seen...only been to OTC sale once, many years ago...been to the Fallon sale from 1984-2020....I do know something and you, Jeromy are real Good, wishing you the best
Wow thank you! I appreciate that.
What would really be entertaining, is to see Jeromy Cooley in the same situation as the bobcat 😂😂😂😂
Son frios HDLGP
Wtf did you catch it for anyway😮
Ever grind it all together?
I'm just curious. On the dry cave set you did at the first half of the video why did you set in front of the cave instead of between the 2 rocks before the cave? Very different country than what im use to. I do love those walk through sets. Two giant cats for sure wow. Super great video.
That would be a great spot to set between those rocks. The only reason I didn’t, was because of the snow. We can get a foot or more of snow in this area, and I leave my sets all season. It’s just less maintenance, and I don’t have to worry if my set is still working. Great question. Thanks for the comment!

great job man, way to go!!!.. wish I could see this In person, on how to physically do these set
Hey Tom! Come on out west and I can show you anytime you want to
Ok, I'll get in touch this next fall for a weekend
Sounds good Tom!
You’re the man !! Very nice information. Everyone needs to know. And you’re right about the cats versus rats. But if you don’t set for them you won’t catch them. And a pond dam is always my favorite set. 2 sets on each dam. I’d like a comment on your brand and Modle of your drone. Very nice pictures and wondering when your season is over ? Keep up the good work buddy !!
Hey Tom! My drone is a DJI Mini Pro. It works pretty good for the cost. I wish it had a little further reach. Our bobcat season in Oregon goes from December 1 through February 28. Thanks for the comment!
@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 I’ll check it out. I had a short season this year first time in like 25 years. But got to go for like 14 days Yotes wasn’t worth catching for the money this year Just seen an auction here in Kansas and the avg was $6. I saved all mine and tanned them all. But looks like you a good season and jack is growing like a weed. lol.
great video🤠
Thank you, and thanks for checking it out!
Really great video Jeromy , I struggle on where to set for cats at times. This helps greatly. Hope the family is well , take care.
Hey Mike! I sure like the rocks for bobcats. It’s not the only place to catch them, but it is a good place for me to start looking. Thanks for the support! I appreciate it
Crazy how they blend in
Definitely. Two of us walked right past him several times
Show me you released him
Those are some fine cats and some fine country !!!! Enough to make a southern feller mad !!! 🤣
Hahahahahah. Come on out west anytime… it may be a little cold in the winter, but the cats sure like it b
Awesome information and tutorial as always Jeromy ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Hey Wyatt! I hope you’re doing good. Glad to hear from you!
@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 doing ok my friend . My apologies for not being around. Hope you and the family are well
Some great lookin cats Jeromy! Nice job on your walkthroughs 😊🔥👍👍
Thanks Craig!
Very cool to watch buddy! Those were nice big bobcats! I really like the looks of your sets! Thank you for sharing and Good luck with everything my friend!
Thank you for your support Mark. I appreciate it
Very good tutorial on bobcats with specific locations. I never pass on a stock dam. Every critter checks them for prey species, even if they are dry.
Totally agree Russel. It’s a great spot. Thanks for the view
Some really great information with some awesome catches great video man thanks for bringing us along
Thanks James! I appreciate the comment
That’s how it’s done folks! Fantastic sets, fantastic results. Another great job of showing how it’s done Mr Jeromy. Wish I had country like that.
Thanks Dale! I’d trade some of this Oregon country for that Wyoming country….especially the political end. Hahahah. Thanks for watching
Great video. Enjoyed watching
Thanks Chip!
Love the video. What is your cable drag setup? I want to get into using some drags instead of always staking hard. Do you always use cable or do you use chain also? What kind of length and sizes on the cables? Thanks
Hey Brent. Probably 90% of my cats sets are on a drag, because I can’t get a stake in the rocks. I have both cable and chain, but I lean towards cable because it’s way cheaper. It works almost as good as chain. My cables are usually about 10’ long. I prefer using a juniper branch for the drag, but a rock that’s cradled real good works too. I do have about 40 drag hooks. All of them are different types of steel drags. I’m still trying to come up with a good, cheap steel drag. When I do I’ll show it on the channel.
I used some 3/32 cable at first, but I’ve switched to 1/8”. It holds better if you end up with a big cat.
@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 perfect thank you. A lot of my places I can stake pretty easily but some are hard clay and then when things get frozen solid some drags would be handy. I hope you do come up with a good homemade drag! Thanks again for the help and info
That last one was not very happy,
Hahahahahahh. I had to cut off some of the footage for time constraints, but he was growling and hissing. He took several swipes at me when I was trying to get him killed.
Ignore the comments, long as it’s not being over hunted and it’s legal this should be fine
It’s all legal! lol. The comment section is where the humor is. I get my daily chuckles from the way some people view reality. I agree with you totally though. Thanks
Какая гадость
Trapping is cruel and inhuman
you know bobcats are very aggressive, right? They will kill you.
@@Chimpanzee_VR_GT yea if you trap it and torment it lol. Bobcat don’t kill people
@@ezragatton5431 why are you acting like you know everything? I live in the mountains and a bob cat stalked me while it was being aggressive.
Evil
They are not really that bad… definitely not evil… they are a little mean when trapped though
@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 not them. You for trapping them
Oh gotcha….I’m pretty dense sometimes…
O u trap them for there fur or are they attacking your livestock?
Good question. The local ranchers have me trap the to keep the population in check. I also sell the fur.
Why do you trap them?
